New year, new subjects...

After surviving my first professional show, I took some time away from painting to enjoy the holidays. Now it is nearly the end of February and although I have been painting, I have not posted anything here. I love changing things up with new subjects, new mediums, new styles. To that end, I decided to create some works in the same "mixed-media" style of my Fridas. Dali seemed to be the perfect subject and after him, another genius, Beethoven. I will continue with the mixed media, but have now added oil pastel in my version of the Miles Davis. I think that the style translates well and will also work in oil paint. I can't wait to see where this series takes me next.
